Several years ago I had the privilege of visiting the homes of
George Muller in Bristol. I had seen pictures of the homes but
nothing prepared me for the enormity of those buildings. This man
knew need for he had children to feed and clothe daily. In total,
God supplied that which was needed to feed and clothe 120,000
children. Yet more He knew the bountiful supplying of God and that
which he received without ever asking for anything in todays money
would be well over 130,000,000.00 dollars! But you say that was a
special case. Then allow a personal testimony.
My wife and I lived for many years at, or below, the poverty line.
By the time we paid rent, ofttimes there was little left. I had a
son-in-law who was a builder. He told us that if we could get
enough for a deposit he would build us a house for cost. It became
a matter of prayer. Then one day a company I had worked for ten
years earlier, phoned to say that if I worked there for three weeks
I would get 50,000.00 dollars. I did the work and my son in law
built us a lovely home. When doubting God’s goodness or ability to
provide, then recall He is just as wealthy today in resources as He
was to Israel, George Muller, or any one of us.
The following are some of God’s promises for our every need,
especially when we question the goodness of God in provision.
