There are times in every believer’s life when the mind of God is difficult to discern, and it could be one of many reasons.
It may be because of:
   a) An unwillingness to heed that which God is saying.
   b) Sin in the life.
   c) The evil one seeking to confuse us.
   d) The failure to fellowship with God sufficiently to know His voice, or many other reasons.

There are times when it comes before a crisis but most often during a crisis.

He sat in the hospital waiting area.  Behind the closed doors a biopsy was being done for cancer, and that was why he was there.  For three months or more there had been a lump like a bone stuck in it. Medications had been taken but now the doctor told him it may be cancer.  Now he sat alone.

Outwardly it did not seem right, for he was a teacher of the scriptures, traveling the world ministering to the saints.

While waiting for the nurse to call his name he lifted a daily meditation booklet and read the portion for that day.  It was: “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord (Psa. 112:7). He immediately knew two things.  This was the voice of God, and he had cancer.

They did the biopsy, and his entire thyroid gland was filled with cancer.  God graciously had prepared him for the news.  The surgery was a complete success and for many more years he travelled, ministering to the saints.
